Hi all!
Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend.
Just a quick post today to share a card I made for this month's Hero Arts contest -- sunshine & clouds.
Anything bright, happy & cheerful is right up my alley, so I really enjoyed creating this card.
Have a fabulous evening!

Cards to share

Couple more to share..
Hi everyone!
Hope your weekend is going great. I have a couple more projects to share, this time using the "Friendship"/ "die-cut" theme for Hero Arts challenge.
First up:

This one is kind of fun, and good for a guy friend.
I wanted to show two cars of the same make, but different colors parked side-by-side. Of course I had to include the immensely popular zigzag background too! hehe.
Second is one using Hero Arts frame-cuts.

I adore the bold pop butterfly here, and knew it would be fabulous embossed it white. I paper pieced their bodies for extra interest.
It was my first time using the frame cuts with the stamp, and I must say I was very pleased with the result. The inside of the blade lines up very nicely with the image, and with just one crank I got such clean results.
That's it from me! Thanks for stopping by! :)

Hero Arts projects
Hi everyone!
The weather is really gorgeous here in Boston. I hope wherever you are your weekend is off to a good start.
Before I share my cards, I wanted to share some good news.. lately I've been submitting a few cards here and there to PaperCrafts and was lucky enough to have 3 of them picked up! So watch out for the summer issue as well as the Stamp It! Cards Vol. 9. :)
Here are a couple cards I made for this month's Hero Arts challenge - Friendship/ Die-cut.

Here's one I made using the cat image from the cling Halloween Moon set. The inside of the card was lined with Bazzill swiss dot cardstock. In hindsight it looks too yellow - like cheddar cheese lol. Anyways, if you know me you know I'm a cat lover, so had to pay tribute to that..
Here's card #2.

This one I made using the lady image as well as sentiment from 2011 clear sets. Those tiny hearts were actually diecut using Hero Arts new frame cuts. :)
I love their sticky backed lace and thought it went pretty nice with the hand-made theme..
Thanks for looking!

Lovely Chick
Hi everyone! Here to share a card I made for Hero Arts contest - Love & Hugs & Kisses!
I just thought the little chick from the Sweet Girl digikit would be so sweet for a Valentine's card.

Basically I printed her on 3 different cardstock, and before piecing them together, I stamped some solid sweethearts on the dark pink cardstock as a background. (The stamp set is CL585 aptly titled Sweethearts)
The chick was colored using copic markers, and popped on foam dots. The solid heart on her chest is actually a solid heart image right from the Sweethearts clear set. I stamped using Barn Door distress ink and fussy cut it. Love how versatile the stamp set is!
The lovely sentiment is also from a new 2012 set CL565. I first stamped it with Barn Door and had to fill in some spots using my copic marker. The ribbon is from my stash.
Digi takes a little more planning and prep work (not like stamps and inks where you can "go with the flow"), but the results and versatility make it totally worth it.
Thanks for taking a peak! :)

Map challenge at Moxie Fab
Hi everyone!
Hope your weekend was great. School starts tomorrow for me, so I made sure to savor every last minute of winter break!
I'm here to share a card I made last week for the Moxie Fab World "Map to Your Heart" challenge. I was giddy because the series in print was my favorite in the Jan/Feb issue. I honestly believe having a map pattern on your card instantly makes it 2x trendier. Hehe.
Here is my take.

Supplies: Sticker from Cosmo Cricket, Houndstooth Stamp by Hero Arts/Studio CAlico, scalloped edge scissors, Map patterned paper by October Afternoon, Wood veneer house by Studio Calico, baker's twine by Martha Stewart.
The heart was basically cut free-hand and edged with distress inks. Then I matted on red, and trimmed with decorative scissors (Yes, I finally broke them out lol)
The house was painted with my new pearl dabber paint. (<----Thumbs up for dabbers! I highly approve!)
The background was stamped with Studio Calico/ Hero Arts background stamp and clear embossed.
Think this would be fun for Valentines day too : )
And though it's a bit off-shaped, the card is cut narrow enough so as to fit any standard sized A2 env-y. Sweet.
Thanks for taking a look!
Hugs,
Hannah
ETA - forgot to mention that the sentiment is a play on the map image - "Hold your loved ones *close*". I thought that and the tied heart was the perfect play on the concept of distance!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger
Hi again! (This is my second post for today. For my first post please scroll down.)
I decided to play along with Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger.
Cath has always got fun and surprising images to inspire us, and this week was no exception.

This tickles the crafty geek in me. LOL! I've always been the bookish type, though, I must admit, math isn't my best card. ;)
Anyway, I loved the fun wonky numbers and the coily quilt action around them. So here is my take:

I actually had made those flower embellishments beforehand. I saw a youtube video on how to make fabric roses, remembered I had some gauze, and decided to make some on whim. Basically I cut the gauze into 1.5 inch strips, twisted them, and glued them down to a punched circle cardstock in coils. I finished off with some fun big gems.
I decided to add more festivity to the card by hand trimming "2012" from various colored cardstocks. Also a nod to the quilted numbers in the trigger. ;)
I decided against using green for the leaves, because I wanted to keep the flowers the focal piont. I think the yellow worked pretty well.
But that's it! Just cardstock, some gauze, a border punch, dry embossing, and gems! I think it may be the first card I made without a stamp or patterned paper. lol
Anyway, that's it from me. Thanks for taking a look!
Hugs,
Hannah
